Good catch! That duo used to run up here to Frankfort from Indianapolis on the J776 local. Now it’s the L419/473 local. Not sure why, but gets recrewed on a regular basis. Power now is 8536 with a different sounding Nathan K5H. 8536 & 4017 currently. Miss that RS5T!!

I know this pair well! They used to be regular power on the local that comes to my neck of the woods (Frankfort, IN) to switch ADM, the only customer here. They used to deliver auto racks to the NS yard, here, not long after we moved here in 1999. There are other customers south of me, in Lebanon. The regular power at first was an SD 40 type. Then it was mostly slug sets for quite a few years, with an occasional lone GP 15, MP 15, or even a GP 15 T. Now, they are back to SD 40’s, mostly. An occasional GE wide cab comes up; usually a 4000 series SD 40-3. At present, it has been SD 50-3 8536, with a K5H horn (sounds a hair out of tune). Thanks for re-acquainting me with the 2501-2348!

162 is now the M. Kemph memorial locomotive. M. Kemph was the driver of a train that crashed head on with a CSX.

I see that train almost every other day nearby the Lee Hall train station it always drops its cars off and then it pulls off but it always drives backwards I've never seen it drove forward but it's a very rare train horn
